Tiny details
This is a terrible photo of something I find beautiful. A makeup case I picked up for a buck at Goodwill, I use it to carry my external backup hard drive in my knapsack. I needed a case because otherwise the drive’s charger kept getting tangled with other things in my knapsack. It isn’t even slightly above average in construction, and I doubt that it’s a knock-off of a knock-off. I’ll bet lots of people dislike the color combination. But it’s one of my favorites. I’ve had it several weeks, and every time I see it, I pause a second because I’m enjoying it.
I have no idea if owning it counts as practicing gratitude. I like to think so. For me, the dash of practicality is especially pleasing. Tiny details, gleefully appreciated when you find them, can change a day.
