Today has not been a great day for many of us in the Seattle area: snow, cold, resulting accidents, power outages. My professional society had to cancel tonight’s meeting, which is achingly disappointing because the speaker, Marilyn Paul, was one of our most-anticipated of the year. And now, as I try to chase away the sorrow by getting online to catch a Stephen Colbert clip (yes, I am unapologetically a leftie-liberal)… his guest is Marie Kondo. Could this day get any worse? And am I going to watch? OF COURSE. And yes, I am gradually, grudgingly becoming a fan.
Colbert just spun Spark Joy on its head, turned it around a dozen times, and left it dizzy. Kondo was a champion: kept pace, enjoyed herself and still brought her concepts across. My esteem riseth.
