Charity Choice Monday – St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle – Real Change 6
St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle (and its partners in Monroe, Olympic Peninsula, Spokane, Tacoma/Pierce City, and Vancouver) intimately involves itself in the lives of its clients. Call for help and a pair of volunteers will knock on your door to listen to your concerns. It provides financial assistance for essentials such as rent, but also often offers commonly-needed items like furniture.
Many of my clients prefer St. Vincent’s over Goodwill. It is vital for a donor to honor his/her values in that way, and I always try to accommodate such requests, as do my fellow Professional Organizers. St. Vincent’s doesn’t have as many donation drop-off sites compared to some other agencies (I contend that Goodwills are as common as Starbucks and mushrooms here in the Pacific NorthWest), but a stubborn person can make it happen.
