All you need is a computer. Or a phone. Really. And yea, some boxes and other basics, but hopefully all of it is easy stuff to get.
When I work with you virtually, I use the same techniques, and teach the same skills, as when we work together on-site. I'll just communicate the ideas to you through a computer, with programs such as Zoom, or by phone.
When is virtual an option? When I can't travel to you, when you've got a tight budget, when you don't want someone in your space, when you're more of a DIYer.
Virtual sessions are 1 -2 hours at a time. Phone check-ins are 15 minutes to a 1/2 hour.
Once or twice a week can be very effective, especially if you also do some work in-between sessions.
Every other week can also be productive, especially, again, if you also carry on in-between sessions.
Sessions do not have to be on an exactly regular schedule unless predictability helps you control your anxiety or your calendar is tight with other commitments such as childcare.
Certain spaces, such as garages, are sometimes more easily done in concentrated sessions, for example in 16 hours over a weekend, because there are often larger, more diverse items to be considered and you might want to take advantage of warm, dry weather to be able to spread things out over a driveway.
Certain situations may also require more frequent or longer sessions, for example if you are trying to prevent an eviction, are suddenly moving for a job or an emergency, or unexpected challenges like a flood are compelling you to declutter quickly.
We will NOT be taking on every space in the house all at once, unless we decide we’re going to start by working with a certain kind of thing which is located throughout the house. The process is usually room-by-room, or space-by-space within a room, or gets broken down into small stretches of time in different locations.
When we work virtually, you have to supply all the stuff like boxes, trash bags and markers.
When we work together virtually, you are responsible for actually letting go of your items, whether it’s by donating them, gifting them or disposing of them as trash/recyclables/shred. I can’t make you let anything go.
FEES
Initial Walk-Through
Free for one hour
$120/hour - Washington-State-bound virtual services and by-phone accountability check-in appointments are sales-taxed as of 10/1/2025. Don't ask me, I don't make the rules!!! BUT I DO DISLIKE THEM.
If non-emergency scheduling changes are necessary, Client agrees to provide no less than 48 hours advance notice to Casual Uncluttering via telephone to 425-947-3976 and/or a text to cellphone 425-435-6528. Failure to provide proper notification will result in a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the session cost, and in addition, expenses already incurred at the time of rescheduling or which are caused by rescheduling shall be billed to Client. In the event that Client is more than fifteen (15) minutes late for a scheduled appointment, this may be considered to be a cancelled session with improper notice, resulting in the cancellation fee set forth above.

Gift Cards
I offer gift cards BUT ONLY if the gift isn't given as a surprise: surprise gifts of organizing services, like surprise gifts of housekeeping services, can be taken rather badly. Here is a funny sample for inspiration(opens in new tab), and a serious one(opens in new tab).
Payment
Check, cash, PayPal or credit card:
Invoices will be provided for all transactions between Client and Casual Uncluttering, and payment is due upon receipt of each invoice or unless the invoice is disputed or alternative arrangements have been made in writing. Payment may be made via check, money order, credit card or PayPal, with checks made payable to Casual Uncluttering. Any dispute or claim with respect to an invoice must be raised in writing within fifteen (15) days from the date of the invoice or the dispute is waived, at which time payment in full will be due and owing. Late fees of one and one-half percent (1.5%) per month will be applied to all invoices that are more than 15 days outstanding. Payments that fail to process will incur bank fees, an administrative fee of $50, and one and one-half percent (1.5%) late fees on the outstanding balance.
WHAT WILL YOU DO TO PREPARE FOR VIRTUAL WORK? NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!
Aaah, that's a bit of an exaggeration...
Don’t:
Buy Any Storage Stuff – we may not know what is really, truly going to work for you until the very end of the process.
BUT do have boxes, trash bags, packing tape, painter’s tape and markers on hand. You might want some tarps, or picnic blankets or old sheets. Assorted sizes of zip lock bags can be useful. Some small containers – tins, cloth cubby bins, small boxes, might be helpful. Wipes or some paper towels or cleaning cloths and a general cleaner can be needed.
If you might come across paperwork, file folders and labels, envelopes, paper clips and rubber bands could be necessary.
If you have a fuzzy sense of time, some external timer(s) – your watch, a kitchen timer, a Time Timer, your computer might help.
Do:
Be well-rested.
Be well-hydrated. Have some extra water or tea or juice or whatever is your favorite ready.
Be well-fed. Have some snacks ready.
Take your usual medications. And maybe an antihistamine if you have dust or dander allergies.
Wear comfortable clothes. AND NO OPEN-TOED SHOES.
Check that the house isn’t too hot, too cold, too dark, too light.
Have some music, or aromatherapy, or a fidget, or whatever might help you focus and stay relaxed ready.
AND BE READY TO HAVE SOME FUN
