Charity Choice Monday – Jewish Family Service – Real Change 23

Jewish Family Service provides help to anyone, regardless of his/her religious background, although its earliest, deepest, resilient roots rise from the coordinated efforts of 70 Jewish women who founded the Ladies Hebrew Benevolent Society in 1892 out of concern for the many Jewish immigrants coming out West. Many other charitable agencies grew from the Society, including United Way of King County.

This is a list of its services, taken from its website:

  • Counseling & Addiction Services
  • Emergency Services
  • Older Adult Services
  • Outreach & Education
  • Polack Food Bank
  • Project DVORA Domestic Violence Services
  • Refugee & Immigrant Services
  • Supportive Living Services for People With Disabilities
  • Volunteer Services

The agency has a page of ingenious D-I-Y gift-in-kind projects for anyone who wants to help its clients.
